What Happened to the Skydiver Who Chose Not to Open Her Parachute?

It was a quiet Sunday, April 27, when something heartbreakingly tragic unfolded at a skydiving site in County Durham. Jade Damarell, 32, a British marketing manager and an experienced skydiver by all accounts, lost her life in what’s being described as a  deeply unsettling incident.

Although the jump itself may have looked routine at first, the aftermath left friends and investigators grappling with a devastating possibility. Local authorities, including both the police and the coroner, are now working together to compile a detailed case file. It has been suggested, although not officially confirmed, that either mental health or separation from her husband may have played a role in her final moments.

A friend of Jade’s, speaking with The Sun, shared something difficult to hear: “She chose not to pull her parachute and landed on her back. It breaks our hearts to say this, but we believe she intended to take her own life.” There's also talk of a note, though those details remain sensitive and under review.

This was not just a freak accident. It feels more layered, more personal, and, for those who knew her, profoundly painful.
